Faces of Cambodia

2010 - Start of the new decade/era. Just seems like yesterday, we were all worried about computer/network meltdown of Y2K and here we are 10 years later. Is it just me or does time fly fast. It must be me!

It only seems apt to start off my blog for this year with the most memorable moments that captured my heart during my trip to Vietnam/Cambodia. It definitely has to be the pictures of children that I took with my new Canon 50D and 24-70mm L lens in Cambodia. While the lens makes a difference, what made it epic were the subjects in the photos. These are kids with so little yet so much. Their faces shows so much and I happen to capture these precious moments. Despite of the conditions they live in, they smile, giggle, laugh and play. The children in these photos welcomed me taking pictures of them up close and they were even more thrilled when I showed them the picture of themselves on the Canon display screen. And for their modelling service, they did not ask for money (if you traveled to Asia, you know what I am talking about). Most kids have probably never had a picture taken of themselves. Its amazing how the simple moments in life can bring so much pleasure. Looking at these pictures just makes me smile -- what a power a kid and a smile can do to ones soul. This will remain a very special moment for me when I think of Cambodia.

Pictures of these kids were all taken in Siem Reap, Cambodia. More pictures of Vietnam/Cambodia to follow soon. All pictures taken with Canon 50D and 24-70mm L lens.
