Central Vietnam, particularly, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, are filled with a plethora of temples, ruins, tombs, palaces, pagodas. One can observe both oppulent and sparten architectures. Thanks to several different countries such as India, Germany, Sweden, who work with UNESCO to restore and preserve these world heritage sites. This part of the country was my favorite among my Vietnam trip as it provided me with the most insight to the culture and history. The seaside town to the quaintness of little villages were added bonus. It was also the fact that it was not as touristy and located in "off the beaten path". I am probably biased because both the cities visited in north (Hanoi) and south (Ho Chi Minh City a.k.a Saigon) reminded me too much of the Asian "big city" feel - crowded, pollution, traffic, etc.
All pictures were taken using Canon 50D with the 24-77mm L lens. Trying to sort through thousands of pictures and picking the best-of was lot harder than taking the pictures itself!
