Just when you think you have figured it out, somethings new intrigues you. The art and craft of Pottery is one such thing. First, you spend ample amount of time, learning to center the clay and once it "clicks", what took you hours now takes minutes. Then, you move to the next challenge -- pulling the walls up. Its a constant battle; There are day when everything seems like a cakewalk and then there are day when the simplest of actions seems so insurmountable. Once you nail the techniques, which by the way can take years/decades, creativity is a beast of its own. "How", "What", "Why", are just some of the question you may ask yourself. In short, the world of ceramics seems gargantuan, but it is a journey to be enjoyed, for every moment is a path leading to the ultimate bliss of pure satisfaction.

These pictures are the resulst of my second semester on the wheel. As an artist, I am my own worst critique but for the first time, I feel like I have come one step closer to being happy with my own products. I am sure with time and more experience, I will look back at these items and see how basic they look. I'll just have to be reminded that these were my initial stepping stones to the journey I began in 2009.

These are my favorites. I like them for the shapes and glazing results.
